Suriya's movie 'Raththa Charithram' was surrounded by controversies right from the day its trailer was released. At first there were objections to the film saying it glorifies violence and shows a lot of blood spilling.

Later a more serious controversy hit the film with one of the film's heroes Vivek Oberoi visiting Sri Lanka and taking the side of the government which is accused of genocide by international Tamil community. Then the Tamil activists from all over the world have sworn not to allow the film to release.

With all the drama the release of the film was hung in balance and the opposition to its release was growing.

Now suddenly things have changed with ‘Raththa Charithram’ being acquired by the powerful Cloud Nine Movies. Sources say Suriya had the Tamil rights of the film in lieu of his remuneration. And when he started feeling the heat of protests he cleverly handed over the film to Cloud Nine Movies.

It is felt now that the influential Cloud Nine Movies will see through the smooth release of ‘Raththa Charithiram’.
